After weeks on the run, former TMC MLA Khokan Das arrested in UP
Former Trinamool Congress MLA Khokan Das was apprehended near the Handia toll plaza on the Kanpur-Varanasi highway. A joint team of West Bengal and Prayagraj police made the arrest in connection with charges of threats, extortion, and abetment of political violence. Das was reportedly moving from Meerut and will be transferred to West Bengal after obtaining transit remand.
