Coal India to Invest Rs 3,300 Crore in 8 New Coking Coal Washeries in Jharkhand

Coal India Limited (CIL) will invest Rs 3,300 crore to establish eight new coking coal washeries in Jharkhand, aiming for a cumulative capacity of 21.5 million tonnes per year by 2029-30. This expansion, alongside modernization of existing facilities, aims to improve domestic coking coal quality and reduce import dependence for the steel industry.
