ECI may go for routine SSR in Assam, not SIR ahead of 2026 polls

While an SSR is routinely undertaken before elections, the version planned for Assam may involve strengthened verification mechanisms, ET has learnt. In the past too, SSR has often come with intensive pre-revision exercises such as house-to-house verification.
