The squad flew in from Tijuana, Mexico, where they had relocated following US-Israel strikes on Iran in February. Their arrival coincided with the announcement of a US-Iran peace deal, to be signed in Switzerland on Friday. The Group G clash on Monday marks the first time in World Cup history that a host nation has faced a country it is at war with.
