Man held for killing elephant in Ganjam
A 45-year-old man has been arrested for shooting a sub-adult male elephant near Beniapalli village in Ganjam district. Umakant Pradhan confessed to using a country-made gun to protect his paddy field after firecrackers failed to scare away the animals. Forest officials also seized weapons and suspected poaching materials.
