No fee needed for kids' Aadhaar biometric updates till October next year
The Unique Identification Authority of India has waived all charges for mandatory biometric updates for children's Aadhaar cards. Effective October 1 for one year, this pro-people measure benefits approximately six crore children. Previously, updates outside specific age windows incurred a Rs 125 fee. Now, all first and second mandatory biometric updates for children aged 5-17 are completely free.
