Rohtak schools adopt inclusive U-shaped seating to end backbencher culture

Government schools in Rohtak have introduced inclusive U-shaped and circular classroom seating to eliminate the front-bencher/back-bencher divide. This innovative model promotes equal participation, better teacher–student interaction, improved discipline, and holistic learning. Teachers report increased attentiveness, while students feel more confident and included. Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta emphasised the importance of inclusive environments in quality education. The seating arrangement is being gradually implemented across the district, alongside teacher training to maximise its impact.
