UP assembly elections to be held on schedule, census will not delay polls: CEC Gyanesh Kumar
Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections will be held on schedule in February–March 2027, despite the Census, citing constitutional requirements. He announced no bypolls in three constituencies, assured corrections to electoral roll errors, ruled out CCTV inside voting booths, and said online voting is not under consideration.
