UP: IVRI examines 9th case of rare rat-borne disease
The Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) identified a rare rat-borne disease, Trypanosoma Lewisi, in a three-month-old infant from Agra through a DNA test. After doctors were unable to diagnose the cause of the infant's constant fever, the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) requested IVRI's assistance.
