Zubeen Garg death: Centre invokes Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty with Singapore, says Assam CM; SIT formed
India has formally invoked the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) with Singapore to investigate the death of singer Zubeen Garg, who drowned in Singaporean waters. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that MLAT ensures full cooperation from Singaporean authorities and access to case details. A 10-member SIT and two Assam Police officers are actively involved in the ongoing investigation.
