Bombay HC dismisses DRI plea against bail to businessman held in Areca Nut smuggling case
The Bombay High Court dismissed the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence’s application challenging businessman Rajesh Nakhua's anticipatory bail in an alleged Areca Nut smuggling case. The court ruled that Section 439 CrPC cannot be used to review another court's bail order, upholding Nakhua's bail. This decision came after DRI argued the Panvel court wrongly granted bail.
