Uttarakhand becomes sixth fully literate state under NEP 2020 and ULLAS programme

Uttarakhand has become the sixth state in India to achieve full literacy under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the ULLAS programme after meeting the adult literacy benchmarks set by the Union Ministry of Education. The declaration received approval from Governor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Gurmeet Singh following the state cabinet's recommendation. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami credited the achievement to public participation and government efforts, with the state's literacy rate now exceeding 98 per cent.
