SIR in India: ECI announces special intensive revision of electoral rolls in 12 states
The Election Commission on Monday launched the second phase of the nationwide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, covering 12 states and Union Territories, including poll-bound West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, and Puducherry. States like Maharashtra and snow-bound regions such as Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, and Ladakh will be covered later.
